About Giang
8 years.
Real answers.
I’m Giang — a nail technician with 8 years of experience across salons in London and Nottingham. I currently work at Unique Nails and Beauty, Nottingham’s first nail salon, established for 25 years.
I started this blog because I kept getting the same questions — about shapes, about gel versus acrylic, about why nails peel. Good nail information is out there, but most of it is written by people who have never held a file professionally. This is my answer to that.
What I write about
Five areas.
One source.
Seasonal colours, the shapes everyone’s asking for, and what’s actually popular in UK salons right now.
Almond, coffin, square, oval, squoval. Find the shape that actually suits your hands, with honest guidance from someone who files them all day.
Gel, acrylic, BIAB, natural nails. Whatever you’re working with, here’s real advice on keeping them healthy and strong between appointments.
From simple designs you can actually do at home to the techniques I use in the salon. Step-by-step, no artistic degree required.
Peeling, breaking, lifting, discolouration. If your nails are telling you something, chances are I’ve seen it at the salon.
“Whether you do your nails at home or visit a salon every few weeks, this blog is for you. Every post is written from real experience — no filler, no guesswork. Just honest advice from someone who works with nails every single day.”
